About us
The Ledger Project
The Ledger Project is a student-led initiative built on a simple belief: nobody should feel lost when it comes to money. Financial literacy shouldn't be a privilege reserved for people who can afford advisors — it should be something every student and family can access, understand, and actually use.
Ledger Scholars is our flagship platform under The Ledger Project. It brings two things together that have always lived apart: financial education and scholarship discovery. Students answer ten quick questions, get matched against 85+ tracked scholarships, apply through our platform, and learn real money skills along the way — all in one home.

Founder of The Ledger Project & Ledger Scholars
Why I built Ledger Scholars
I started The Ledger Project because I kept seeing the same story around me: smart, hardworking students who had no idea how much money was actually out there for them — and no one teaching them how money works in the first place. Scholarships went unclaimed. Financial aid felt like a foreign language. Budgeting, credit, and saving were things you were just expected to "figure out."
That didn't sit right with me. College is expensive, and the system rewards the people who already know how to navigate it. I wanted to build something that levels the playing field — a place where any student, regardless of background, can discover the scholarships they actually qualify for and learn the financial skills nobody bothered to teach them.
Ledger Scholars is that place. It's not just a search tool — it's a guide. From your first questionnaire to your first submitted application, from understanding the FAFSA to writing a winning essay, everything is designed to be simple, honest, and genuinely useful.
The mission
"Make financial literacy approachable, and make paying for school possible — for every student."
Our community
Built by a student, growing with students.
The Ledger Project is more than a website — it's a growing community of students, families, sponsors, and donors who believe financial opportunity shouldn't depend on who you know. Every scholarship a sponsor lists, every student who gets matched, and every dollar of aid unlocked moves that mission forward.
Students first
Everything we build starts with one question: does this actually help a student pay for school or understand money better?
Sponsors & donors
Organizations can submit scholarships directly to our database and reach students who are actively looking for them.
Always free
Ledger Scholars will always be free for students. Opportunity shouldn't come with a paywall.
